Spring is a fine time for new life

I have been busy having maternity sessions with some gorgeous new mommies (and daddies too). Here are a few. The first couple actually was given their little boy early. I just came back to the studio after doing his newborn session. I'll be blogging his images in a few weeks. He was just too cute.

The next few are due in June and July.

All boys. I guess it's just that kind of year.

I'm off to New York so I'll be blogging you all about it upon my return. Have a good week all.

something different

During my kid's spring break we decided to go and hang with the horses. One our family friends works on a ranch and keeps her horse there as well. She was gracious enough to give my girls a tour and show them a bunch of the horses. We brought carrots and they had fun feeling the whiskers as they bent to take the snacks out of their hands. One horse was close to giving birth and they saw one that was monsterous. Their favorite was Roani who is Nancy's horse. He was very sweet. I was honored to take a portrait of Nancy and Roani for her. Here are some of those. Thanks for a great day Nancy.

And for those of you that I've told that I don't take many images of my own kids, here is one. I like it although it's a bit unconventional. I also included Eddie, which most of you know as the "grouchy dog."

Just a reminder, I will be out of the studio from Tuesday the 24th until Wednesday, May 2nd. My husband will be fielding emails and phone calls but I may not be able to get back to you until I get back. I should be refreshed and energize on my return. See you later...

a few more

Here is an adorable little girl. She was full of smiles and we had a lot of fun...

This next spunky, beach girl is also my youngest daughter's kindergarten friend. We spent a beautiful morning hanging out in a nature made, salt water pool. It was fun meeting dad who was home, for a week, from being on duty overseas. We all got wet and looked for sea glass. I loved how the light caught in her hair and eyes.

They have arrived!

The Gina Alexander bags are now available at Makana Mother and Baby. I went down to snap these and I was blown away. The quality is amazing and the construction is wonderful. They came out really well. Go down and take a look if you are in the area. And... I am super excited to announce that if you order a bag within 3 months of your photo session, Cathy will give you something special (from her Noodle and Boo line) to put into the bag. Here are some images of the bags but these don't really do them justice. You have to go down and see them for yourself.

These bags with Utopia Photography images can only be ordered through Makana Mother and Baby.

More of my favorite client images coming back in a few days. I'll try to post as much as I can before my weeklong vacation.

Thanks for stopping by.

The Girl Post

Can you believe it? I keep meaning to post and catch up, but all I've been doing is having more sessions and getting more behind.

So here is a post of girls. (Boys, you will get your spotlight in the near future.) These two families have the most adorable little girls. All of them were very friendly and inviting. I made some new friends for sure.
