About utopia Photography
Based in Wahiawa, Hawaii, Lisa is a traditional, black & white, film photographer who insists that her work be custom-printed by hand. Lisa and her team print all of her clients’ photographic work in her own darkroom where she can maintain the technical and artistic integrity of every photograph. Lisa shoots with a photo-documentary approach, which lends a unique portraiture style to her work.
Lisa started capturing images 27 years ago when she was still in high school. She holds degrees in photography and in education. She was a Hawai’i public school teacher for over 10 years, with five years devoted to a middle school art program.
Lisa, along with Laurie Callies, are the founders of ProjectFocus Hawaii. A seven year old non-profit which teaches at-risk kids how to take portraits using film cameras. Visit www.projectfocushawaii.com to learn more about it.
Lisa has clients through the State of Hawai‘i, the mainland and Asia.
Lisa is married and has three children.
